Proton to cease its business operations temporarily following the announcement of the Controlled Movement Order.

Proton has announced that it will be complying with the Government’s directive following the announcement of the Controlled Movement Order from the 18th to 31st March 2020.

The company’s business activities will be guided by the guidelines as laid out yesterday by the Government. Therefore, all customer-facing activities such as sales and after-sales will cease as all Proton outlets will be temporarily closed.

Concurrently, production activities at Proton’s Tanjung Malim and Shah Alam plants will cease in unison as Proton will systematically close all of its operations in the effort to help control the spread of the coronavirus.

Proton will resume all operations as soon as clearance is given by the government of Malaysia.
