UMWT To Temporarily Cease Operations To Comply With Controlled Movement Order

UMW Toyota Motor has announced that its business operations will be put on pause to comply with the Government’s Controlled Movement Order, and the Season 3 Round 4 TGR Festival will be cancelled.

UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has also joined the list of companies ceasing their operations temporarily following the announcement on the Controlled Movement Order by the Malaysian Government recently.

UMWT announced that all Authorised Toyota and Lexus dealerships will place its usual day-to-day operations temporarily on pause, but remain contactable to all customers effective 18 March.

The safety of our employees, our stakeholders and all of our Customers is paramount to us. Based on direction from the government, despite the shutdown of our operations, we will continue to be available to our customers for any assistance they may require with regard to their Toyota and Lexus vehicles.

Likewise, Assembly Services Sdn. Bhd.’s manufacturing operations will also be suspended on 18 March onwards. At the moment, there is no plan for any specific manufacturing suspension outside Malaysia, resulting from the situation in Malaysia.

In another recent development following the announcement of the Season 3 Round 4 of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival to be held as a “closed-door” event scheduled to take place on the 18-19 April 2020 at the Sepang International Circuit will be cancelled in compliance with the Government’s pro-active measures to contain the transmission of the Covid-19 pandemic.
