Honda Malaysia today officially launched its flagship SUV, the 6th Generation All-New Comfortable Runabout Vehicle (CR-V).
- Engine: The All-New CR-V introduces a new generation 2.0L e:HEV powertrain in the RS variant, while other variants (S, E, and V) offer a 1.5L VTEC Turbocharged Engine.
- Features: The e:HEV RS variant includes advanced features like a Bose Premium Sound System with 12 Speakers, Head-Up Display (HUD), and Smart Key Card. Other variants have various amenities such as a Hands-Free Power Tailgate, leather-trimmed seats, advanced display audio with connectivity options, and interior ambient lighting.
- Pricing: The S variant is priced at RM157,900 for 750 units as part of Honda Malaysia’s celebration of its 75th Anniversary and 20 years of CKD CR-V production. Other variant prices range from RM159,900 to RM181,900.
- Specifications: The All-New CR-V boasts a spacious interior, enhanced cargo space, improved rear legroom, and a suite of safety features, including eight airbags, Honda SENSING system, Adaptive Driving Beam, Honda LaneWatch, and a Multi-View Camera System.

Kuala Lumpur, 14 December 2023 – Honda Malaysia today officially launched its flagship SUV, the 6th Generation All-New Comfortable Runabout Vehicle (CR-V). Set to redefine the SUV market, ‘THE ULTIMATE SUV’ makes a strong statement with a new generation 2.0L e:HEV powertrain and new design that embodies the Honda DNA. With an elegant exterior, a premium and impressively spacious interior, along with unparalleled comfort and a host of practical advanced technologies, the All-New CR-V is poised to set new standards.
Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Hironobu Yoshimura said, “The launch of this all-new model aligns with the current market trends and demand in the SUV segment. For the first three quarters of 2023, the CR-V witnessed a 10% year-on-year growth in sales compared to the previous period. To top it off, the model has maintained its No.1 position in the Non-National Mid-Size SUV Segment during the same period. With this new model, we are not just taking a step forward; we are making a huge leap in this segment. The comprehensive SUV package of the All-New CR-V contributed to its soaring popularity, amassing over 2,000 bookings in just one month.”
With a choice of two powertrains and available in four variants, the All-New CR-V offers options tailored to meet the diverse preferences and needs of customers. At the heart of the All-New CR-V e:HEV RS variant is a new generation 2.0L e:HEV powertrain that produces up to 335Nm of torque and 184PS of maximum power. It pairs with an Electric Continuous Variable Transmission (e:CVT) in a new framework, a first in Honda Malaysia, to provide excellent engine performance, fuel efficiency and high-power compatibility.
Customers who prefer an SUV with exhilarating driving dynamics can opt for the S, E or V variants, featuring an advanced 1.5L VTEC Turbocharged Engine that achieves a maximum power of 193PS and a peak torque of 243Nm. Working alongside an advanced CVT, this engine provides powerful performance while optimising acceleration response. The V variant comes exclusively with an advanced Real Time AWD that enhances front and rear driving force distribution for a more secure and stable drive.
Attractive from every angle, the All-New CR-V’s modern and sophisticated styling is conveyed through Honda’s well-proportioned and distinctive design language. The model (S, E and e:HEV RS variants) is bigger and wider than its predecessor, setting an imposing stance with its 4,691mm length, 1,866mm width, 1,681mm height and 2,701mm wheelbase. Complementing the aesthetics of this completely redesigned SUV are a unique Front Grille with a bold Mesh Pattern, Full LED Headlights and Tail-Lights, Front LED Sequential Turn Signals, a Tailpipe Chrome Finisher *2 and Active Cornering Lights *3.
The top line e:HEV RS variant is equipped with Active Shutter Grille, a highly functional automatic feature on the Front Lower Bumper that enhances the aerodynamics and fuel efficiency of the All-New CR-V. In addition, the e:HEV RS variant enables its owner to hit the road in style with its Berlina Black 18-inch Alloy Wheels that further heighten the model’s premium presence.
Honda Malaysia is taking its flagship SUV to higher levels with the most expansive cargo space ever in a CR-V, which is the largest in its class. The boot capacity now sits at 589 litres when the rear seats are up and increases to a capacious 1,072 litres when the seats are laid flat. The All-New CR-V has a low loading height, making it easy to move heavier items onto and off the SUV. One of the convenient features that further elevates this ease is the Hands-Free Power Tailgate with Walkaway Close *1, which enables the owner to open the boot by simply raising their feet below the rear bumper. The boot door will automatically close when the owner walks away.
The clean, horizontal design of the All-New CR-V’s interior bespeaks a combination of classy and contemporary style, and at the same time offers luxurious comfort and a roomier cabin. The leather-trimmed seats *4 in the E variant and above also enhance the overall premium feel in the cabin. To cap it off, drivers are treated to top-notch comfort with an 8-way Driver Power Seat with two-position memory that allow them to easily find the most comfortable positions and save their preferred seating configurations. Passengers can also enjoy a more relaxing ambience inside this SUV as the rear legroom is now improved with 16mm more space. Furthermore, the All-New CR-V offers greater comfort for rear passengers with sliding seats that can recline at eight different angles.
A slew of innovative and practical features are smartly integrated to enhance the All-New CR-V’s cabin experience. In the E variant and above, there are an additional front USB-C Port, a 9-inch Advanced Display Audio with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ Connectivity and a Wireless Charger. Additionally, the V and e:HEV RS variants offer the Interior Ambient Lighting.
Taking the experience to new heights, the e:HEV RS variant is loaded with exclusive features, including a 10.2-inch TFT Meter. It is also equipped with Bose Premium Sound System with 12 Speakers, a first in Honda’s local line-up, delivering crisp and immersive listening enjoyment for drivers and passengers alike. Another new feature in the e:HEV RS variant is a Head Up Display (HUD) that shows important driver information such as speed and advanced driver assistance system (ADAS). The e:HEV RS also features Smart Key Card for added convenience.
The All-New CR-V strives to set the benchmark for active and passive safety performance in an SUV. For the first time in Honda Malaysia, the model incorporates a total of eight Airbags with the inclusion of two Knee Airbags. This feature, along with Honda CONNECT, comes as standard across all variants. Maintaining its supremacy in providing a comprehensive range of safety technology, the All-New CR-V comes with an upgraded Honda SENSING system with a Wide-Angle Radar, Camera and Sonar Sensor. The safety functions in this driver-assistive technology are further enhanced with the inclusion of Adaptive Driving Beam *3, bringing the total number of safety functions to nine. Other important safety features in the model include Honda LaneWatch *1 and a Multi View Camera System (360-degree Camera) *3.
The All-New CR-V provides customers with a choice of five attractive colours. Available for the first time in Honda Malaysia is Canyon River Blue Metallic, joining the line-up of Platinum White Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, and Ignite Red Metallic.

This year, Honda is commemorating its 75th Anniversary, coinciding with Honda Malaysia’s celebration of 20 years of Completely Knocked Down (CKD) CR-V production as this model was the first car assembled in its Melaka plant. In conjunction with the celebration of these milestones, the All-New CR-V S Variant is offered at RM157,900 *5 only for 750 units on a first-come, first served basis.
In view of the current market trends and rising SUV demand, Honda Malaysia targets to achieve a monthly sales target of 1,000 units.
