Munich/Stuttgart, September 4, 2023 – Mercedes-Benz Group AG’s CEO, Ola Källenius, unveiled a trailblazing future model family at the Mercedes-Benz Pavilion in Munich’s Apothekenhof, marking a pivotal moment in the age of electric and digital innovation. This concept car, the new Concept CLA Class, is set to redefine the brand’s vision by introducing cutting-edge technology, remarkable efficiency, stunning aesthetics, and sustainable materials, all underpinned by an entirely new operating system, MB.OS.

With its debut as the first vehicle on the new Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA), the Concept CLA Class boasts an impressive range of over 750 kilometers (466 miles) (WLTP)1 on a single charge. This remarkable energy efficiency, approximately 12 kWh/100 kilometers (5.2 mi/kWh), positions it as a pioneer in the electric age, often referred to as the “one-litre car” for electric vehicles. Sustainability remains at the forefront, aligning with Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to its Ambition 2039 initiative.

Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, emphasized the significance of this introduction, stating, “With the Concept CLA-Class as a predecessor and the four upcoming MMA vehicles, we are elevating every aspect of what customers can expect from Mercedes-Benz in this segment. MB.OS will create a fundamentally enhanced customer experience, from driving assistance and navigation to charging and on-board entertainment. Across the entire MMA fleet, we will reduce CO2 emissions in our value chain by more than 40 percent compared to the previous architecture.”

The Concept CLA Class was unveiled at a spectacular Pre-Night event at the Mercedes-Benz Pavilion, featuring tennis legend Roger Federer, a mesmerizing kinetic light show, and a live music performance by French pianist Sofiane Pamart.
