Honda Malaysia Sets Ambitious 2025 Strategy with Three New Model Launches
Shah Alam, 28 February 2025 – Honda Malaysia has unveiled its strategic direction for 2025, targeting the sale of 83,000 units and capturing a 10.6% market share. The plan includes the introduction of three new models, enhanced brand activities, and a strong focus on electrification.
The year began with the launch of the New Civic in January, with two additional models set to debut within the year. Honda Malaysia remains committed to strengthening its presence by offering a diverse lineup, catering to evolving market demands, and enhancing customer engagement through innovative brand initiatives.
Commitment to Electrification and Market Expansion
Honda Malaysia continues to champion internal combustion engine (ICE) and e:HEV hybrid technologies, recognizing their sustained relevance due to infrastructure readiness and consumer preferences. The company’s hybrid lineup has gained remarkable traction, accounting for nearly 30% of Malaysia’s total hybrid car sales in 2024.
As part of its electrification strategy, Honda Malaysia will introduce its first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), the e:N1, in 2025. This marks the company’s first step into the Malaysian EV market, leveraging Honda’s expertise and extensive after-sales network. Managing Director and CEO Mr. Hironobu Yoshimura stated that this move is pivotal in the company’s three-year roadmap to launch three new BEV models by 2027, reinforcing Honda’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.

Beyond product expansion, Honda Malaysia is focused on enhancing its sales and after-sales services. The company’s well-established dealership network, consisting of 104 dealerships, ensures that customers receive top-tier service backed by highly trained professionals. To further improve customer convenience, Honda Malaysia is prioritizing digitalization. The HondaTouch platform, which currently has over 430,000 active users, is a testament to this digital shift, offering a seamless and efficient after-sales experience.
Strong Performance in 2024
Honda Malaysia’s dedication to delivering high-quality vehicles and superior customer service was evident in its 2024 performance, achieving 81,600 unit sales and securing 10% market share. The brand maintained its No.1 position in the Non-National Passenger Vehicle Segment for the 11th consecutive year. The HR-V, City, and CR-V were the company’s best-selling models, contributing 26%, 25%, and 14% of total sales, respectively. Additionally, the CR-V, HR-V, and Civic led their respective Non-National segments.
