Cycle & Carriage Study Grant Returns for Fifth Year to Nurture Future Automotive Talent

Petaling Jaya, 17 December 2025 – Cycle & Carriage (C&C) continues its commitment to developing future-ready automotive professionals with the fifth edition of the Cycle & Carriage Study Grant 2025, awarding RM40,000 in financial aid to four students from Despark International College (DSIC).

Part of C&C’s broader Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) initiatives, the programme is designed to support underprivileged youths pursuing automotive education, while also providing a structured pathway into long-term careers within the industry.

The grant signing ceremony was held at Cycle & Carriage Mutiara Damansara, attended by Cycle & Carriage Malaysia CEO Adrian Short, CFO James Zhang, After Sales General Manager Mark Ho, and Head of People & Culture Christine Eu.

Guided by our ESG values, we aim to create impact beyond business by empowering communities, supporting education, and preparing young Malaysians for meaningful careers in the automotive sector,” said Adrian Short, CEO of Cycle & Carriage Malaysia.

2025 Study Grant Recipients

The four recipients are currently pursuing Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles (SKM Level 3 + C&G Level 3):

  • Tan Jian Li (23)
  • Tan Jian San (21)
  • Ahmad Akif Sofwan bin Ahmad Azli (18)
  • Chiam Jin Xian (20)

Each recipient receives a RM10,000 bursary and a two-year bonded contract, which includes guaranteed employment with Cycle & Carriage upon graduation.

Sharing his excitement, Chiam Jin Xian said the grant provides him with the opportunity to further his passion for the automotive field and realise his long-term career ambitions with Cycle & Carriage.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Akif Sofwan bin Ahmad Azli noted that the award has strengthened his motivation to develop the skills needed to contribute meaningfully to the automotive industry.

Tan Jian San added that receiving support from a reputable automotive group like Cycle & Carriage has boosted his confidence and inspired him to work towards building a strong foundation for long-term career success.

Supporting Access to Automotive Education

The Cycle & Carriage Study Grant is open to Malaysians aged 16 and above who are enrolled in automotive institutions accredited by the Department of Skills Development (DSD) under the Ministry of Human Resources or the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE). The programme prioritises students from lower-income or single-income households, helping make quality automotive education more accessible.

Now in its fifth year, the initiative reflects Cycle & Carriage’s ongoing commitment to nurturing local talent and strengthening Malaysia’s automotive workforce.
