The ultimate luxury Grand Touring saloon now at Bentley Kuala Lumpur showroom
The all-new third-generation Bentley Flying Spur has been launched in Kuala Lumpur, following its Asia-Pacific debut in Singapore last year.
Over 2000 changes have been made since the second-generation Flying Spur. There is a new platform and several advanced technologies were introduced in this Flying Spur. It also has the latest incarnation of Bentley’s twin-turbocharged W12 engine which is now 15 per cent more fuel efficient than its predecessor from the introduction of port and direct injectors and cylinder shut-off technology. The six-litre mill produces 626bhp, 900Nm of torque and does 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds. Top speed is 333km/h. The gearbox is an eight-speed twin-clutch transmission.
The turning circle has been reduced by enhancing the four-wheel drive system with rear-wheel steer. The Flying Spur now has a 48-volt electronically-controlled anti-roll system with a new three-chamber air springs for improved damping. A lift system available as an option.
The Flying B mascot on the Flying Spur has LED-illuminated crystal wings. The emblem is retractable into the bonnet. The LED matrix headlights have a cut-crystal effect while the rear lamps feature the Bentley signature ‘B’ motif. There are new designs for the wheels which are either 21- or 22-inch.
Centrally located in the Flying Spur is the Bentley Rotating Display which shows either a 12.3-inch digital touchscreen, analogue dials, or a wood veneer finish. The instrument cluster has digital gauges. The Flying Spur has integrated Wi-Fi hotspot to help keep the driver in touch with a range of real-time functions and services.
The customisations options for the interior are extensive including an optional panoramic glass sunroof and a choice of three audio systems. The Flying Spur pictured is in the Blackline specification. The brightwork on the exterior, the Flying B mascot, radiator vanes, matrix grilles, side window surrounds and lower door and rear bumper blades, has been replaced with Blackline trim: . The front and rear light surrounds are also trimmed in black. The paintwork is White Sand with 22-inch ten-spoke wheels in dark grey painted and bright machined finish.
The cabin has Liquid Amber Veneer fascias and centre control and Imperial Blue leather throughout: new-design fluted-style stitching on the leather seats, with diamond quilting for the Mulliner Driving Specification, and three dimensional diamond quilted leather doors inserts that Bentley proclaim are a world first.
