Updated Hyundai Tucson to be launched by end of October

Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) will launch a facelifted Hyundai Tucson by the end of this month and customers who wish to be the first to own it can place their bookings now. There will be two variants to choose from – one with a turbocharged 1.6-litre 177 ps/265 Nm engine and the other with a 2-litre engine (155 ps/192 Nm). Selling prices are to start from RM123,888 (Peninsular Malaysia registration, excluding insurance).

The updates include a new cascading grille flanked by reshaped headlights while the rear end gets a new bumper and refined tailgate lines. Other exterior upgrades include new 17-inch rims as well as LED front lighting units (Turbo variant only). While not revealing the changes or additions inside, HSDM says ‘customers can expect major upgrades in the interior’.

“The Tucson is more appealing than before with the new makeover and it remains one of the popular SUVs in Malaysia. We expect good response for this version as it fulfills every aspect of customers’ expectations of an SUV. It’s visually appealing, safe, powerful, packed with advanced features and offers comfort to both the driver and passengers,” said Dennis Ho, MD of Sime Darby Motors (Malaysia, Thailand and Taiwan).

1.6-litre engine is turbocharged and has direct fuel injection.

As with other Hyundai models sold in Malaysia, there is a 5-year or maximum of 300,000 kms warranty and owners will also enjoy free scheduled servicing during the first 3 years (or maximum of 50,000 kms from the time of original registration).
