Proton to produce face shields for medical frontliners

Proton staff to produce and distribute 60,000 face shields for medical frontliners

Proton will begin production of 60,000 face shields for Covid-19 medical staff from 13 April at its Shah Alam headquarters. It is estimated that total production time will be around 20 days. The face shields will be distributed around the country as needed.

The production will be undertaken by staff members who have volunteered their time in support of medical frontliners during the Covid-19 pandemic. Permission was obtained for the staff who will be monitored to ensure compliance to sanitising practices and distancing rules during the Movement Control Order.

This is Proton’s latest initiative to help those involved in fighting the spread of Covid-19. Proton also has loaned 50 units of Proton X70 SUVs to the Ministry of Health.

In addition, Proton has also pledged to extend the warranties of cars which expire during the MCO.
