Polis Diraja Malaysia advises citizens who wish to travel out of state to report at the police station with necessary documents
Update: IGP Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador has retracted the restriction until a new decision is made after a meeting on this matter today.
For anyone who needs to travel outside of their respective states during the Movement Control Order period will need to inform the police before embarking for their journeys, and will need to bring necessary documents to the police station to show cause as to why they need to travel, such as to visit sick family members or picking up their children.
IGP Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador said that the Movement Control Order will be in effect on midnight tonight, which also includes travelling across states. Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) will prepare forms for citizens with the necessary documents who need to return to their hometowns during the 14-day confinement period.
IGP Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador also added that the police force has not mobilised for check-ups at districts or state borders at this point in time.
