Nissan’s GT-R NISMO GT500 racing car for 2014 Super GT

Honda and Toyota/Lexus have revealed their new Super GT racing cars which are making their debut at the fifth round of the Super GT series this weekend at Suzuka, Japan. Not to be left out of the excitement, Nissan Motor and Nissan Motorsports International (NISMO) today unveiled the new-for-2014 rules’ compliant GT500-class spec Super GT machine – the GT-R Nismo GT500.

From 2014, cars in the GT500 class will be developed based on the same new technical regulations (except for engine-related regulations) as the DTM (German Touring Car Championship), ensuring a more intense between teams.

NISMO, responsible for Nissan’s motorsport activities, has developed the GT-R to meet these new 2014 rules. The car underwent its initial shakedown at the end of July and will conduct a demonstration run at the Suzuka Circuit this weekend.
