Honda Malaysia product recall: 702 units of vehicles as a precautionary safety measure

Honda Malaysia product recall involves the City Hybrid 2021 Year Model and Civic 2022 Year Model

Honda Malaysia has issued a product recall for 702 cars. The cars affected are 630 units of City Hybrid 2021 year model and 72 units of Civic 2022 year models.

The recall is for the following situations:

A. Inactive Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) camera
This recall is a precautionary safety measure. The Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) camera fitted in the front windscreen may not operate properly and cause ADAS to be inactive when driving.

B. Incomplete welding in driver seat slide adjuster
This recall is a precautionary safety measure to rectify the welding point at the slide adjuster in the driver seat. The driver seat may not be fixed in position when driving and may compromise the seatbelt protection for the driver.

Other current Honda production and selling models are not affected in this product recall. As of today, there are no incidences of crashes or injuries caused by this issue reported in Malaysia.

Notification letters will be sent to all affected customers. All affected customers should contact any Honda authorised dealer to make an appointment upon receipt of the notification to have their vehicles checked and repaired if required, subject to parts availability.

The inspection, repair and replacement of the affected parts are free of charge and all costs related to this recall activity will be borne by Honda Malaysia.
