Highlights of the Malaysia Autoshow 2019 (Part 1)

Limited to 50 units, the Perodua Bezza Limited Edition will only be available for booking at the event, and is priced at RM44,890 (excluding insurance). Based on the Bezza 1.3 Premium X, it is available only in an Ivory White finish with a full GearUp bodykit in matte black.
Other exclusive features of the Bezza Limited Edition are an all-round red lower pinstripe, a matte black rear spoiler, blacked-out roof and dark grey alloy wheels. Rounding off its sporty exterior are red door mirror covers and geometric graphics on the bonnet and lower sides. The interior is enhanced by the addition of GearUp seat covers with new red stitching, red air vent surrounds and GearUp coil mats.
While excitement surrounding with Proton’s first SUV remains high, the company has also updated its Iriz and Persona models, giving them a more premium feel and performance.
The Honda Type R is already a very aggressive-looking machine (with performance to match the looks). Honda Malaysia put on a Mugen bodykit to show how much more extreme the looks can be. It’s just a showcar and there are no plans to sell such a variant.
The all-new Toyota Yaris will be launched later this month and the public can get a first look at this hatchback at the event. It’s the first locally-assembled Toyota hatchback since the days of the Starlet in the 1980s and the Corolla Liftback that was assembled up till the late 1990s. The new generation Toyota Camry (below) was unveiled at the KL International Motorshow last year and still attracts attention with its bold new appearance.
Mazda and Bermaz Motor are still preparing for the introduction of the new CX-8 crossover SUV later in the year. It needs a bit more time due to the intention to assemble locally. But you can get a look at it at the motorshow and register your interest if you want one.
Edaran Tan Chong Motor is showing the updated X-Trail range and the good news is that there is no price change even though there are more and better features. The new range includes a hybrid variant, which is a first.
