Continental Tyres has launched its latest product in the Generation 7 tyre line, the ComfortContact CC7, designed to prioritize comfort for drivers and passengers. The tyre, with Comfort+ Technology, promises a smoother and quieter ride, making every journey truly enjoyable.
The ComfortContact CC7 is specifically designed for everyday driving, all year round, and is suitable for use across a wider range of temperatures and seasons. It features three key features under the Comfort+ Technology – Zero Shock Pattern, Everflex Compound, and Noise Muter – that significantly reduce harshness, absorb noise frequencies and improve rolling comfort.
The tyre’s long-life compound is resilient enough to withstand daily wear and tear. Additionally, the ComfortContact CC7 provides enhanced safety on the road through significant improvements in handling and braking, without compromising on comfort and low noise levels. The tyre is available in sizes ranging from 13″ to 16″ and is suitable for a wide range of vehicles, including mini-compact, compact, mid-size and MPVs. Continental Tyres has established a reputation for quieter and more comfortable products across its Asia-dedicated line of tyres, with the ComfortContact CC7 serving as its flagship product in the comfort segment.
1 March 2023 – Following the launch of the UltraContact UC7 in August 2022, Continental Tyres launches its newest product in its line of Generation 7 tyres, the ComfortContact CC7, a comfort-focused tyre that seeks to make every journey truly enjoyable for both drivers and passengers.
“Through our understanding of the market, we know that a key criterion for drivers in Asia-Pacific is comfort, as compared to their Western and European counterparts. As a result, Continental has established a reputation for across our Asia-dedicated line of products for tyres that are quieter and more comfortable. The ComfortContact CC7 represents our flagship product in the comfort segment,” stated Dalibor Kalina, Head of Replacement Tyres Asia Pacific.
A tyre’s comfort parameters are typically measured through the vehicle’s Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) characteristics. According to Continental’s research, tyres can be responsible for around 50 percent of the noise produced when driving. As Bob Liu, Head of R&D Asia Pacific at Continental states, “When traveling at higher speeds especially, tyre to road noise and turbulence increase and become much more noticeable. Tyre noise is also becoming increasingly important factor for electric vehicles whose drive systems are barely audible. For both conventional ICE and electric vehicles, this means selecting the right comfort tyre is a crucial decision that can greatly improve in-cabin acoustics.”
Our answer to this is the new ComfortContact CC7, upgraded with Comfort+ Technology that promises a smoother drive experience and a quiet ride for more moments of tranquility and peace of mind – “Driving Comfort, Redefined by Technology”.
“Given the distinct requirements of different customer bases as well as the demand of innovative technology, we dig deep to understand the needs of drivers in Malaysia and create product to fulfil these requirements,” stated Andrea Somorova, Managing Director of Continental Tyre Malaysia.
To bring the ComfortContact CC7 to market, Continental assembled a global team of more than 30 engineers & experts who spent more than 7,500 hours designing, simulating, building and prototype testing. More than 500 tests under various road and laboratory conditions were carried out, with a distance enough to circle the Earth over 7 times.
Engineered for our comfort tyre segment, Comfort+ Technology is specifically for drivers who prioritise comfort for themselves and their passengers. Comfort+ Technology encompasses the ComfortContact CC7’s three key features, “Z.E.N”, – Zero Shock Pattern, Everflex Compound, and Noise Muter.
The ComfortContact CC7’s Zero Shock Pattern features a unique tread pattern design that reduces shock from traditional blocks. It is engineered to significantly reduces harshness even on bumpy and uneven road surfaces, bringing superior rolling comfort to the next level.
The Noise Muter comprises two noise-reducing technologies that effectively reduce noise for better sound comfort. Firstly, the Noise Breaker 3.0 breaks up sound waves into smaller ones and prevents from building up and traveling into the car cabin. Secondly, Helmholtz Resonators, named after the German physicist who discovered the Helmholtz Resonance theory, are noise-absorbing chambers on the tyre’s pattern surface that draw in air waves and absorb noise frequencies before they can exit.
Besides focusing on comfort aspects, Continental’s engineers have also built in a long tyre life for the ComfortContact CC7 to withstand daily wear and tear. Whether it’s for short daily commutes or long-distance road trips, the ComfortContact CC7’ Everflex Compound is a resilient all-season compound that makes the tyre suitable for use across a wider range of temperatures and seasons.
Compared to its predecessor, the ComfortContact CC6, the ComfortContact CC7 provides enhanced safety on the road though significant improvements in handling and braking without sacrificing on comfort and low noise levels.
Created for a wide range of vehicles, the ComfortContact CC7 is available from 13” to 16” tyre size fitments. Drivers looking for a truly enjoyable driving experience can select ComfortContact CC7 for their mini-compact, compact, mid-size and MPVs.
